III. Description
A. Overview/Format
Forefront Creator Residency (FCR) events/programming will be token-gated in some fashion. (Partial?)
FCR will support the professional development of Web3 creators whose ethos and work thrives on the deep collaboration and social engagement heralded by the new Web3 world.
FCR aims to cultivate experimentation at the leading edge of the Web3 Creator economy, particularly at the intersection of business, media and community.
For Off-Season, we may bootstrap awareness/audience by recruiting later-stage creators. But in the long-term, we will particularly focus on emerging (early/mid career) creators.
FCR will provide a platform for Web3 creators (defined broadly, incl. artists, writers, developers, entrepreneurs, investors, etc.) to develop, workshop and present their work to the FF community.
Creators will use the Forefront platform and community to actively develop work-in-progress and build in public: develop a new project or build further on an existing project.
While in residency, the Creator will participate in the life of the DAO generally, as/when possible, as well as participate in live community events and workshops.
The Creators’ participation in the life of the DAO opens the door to divergent thoughts and perspectives, along with infusion of fresh energy and insights. (Call out to Community values of Experimentation & Diversity.)
Creators will regularly hold Open Studio events to present WIP to the Forefront Community and will be encouraged to invite people from their own community/network on to engage with us in special programming.
In addition to engaging with the FF community, Creators are encouraged to experiment and cross-pollinate with one another.
Affiliation/Partnerships: the Creator Residency will operate in affiliation with the Forefront Alpha Academy. Creators in Residence will be invited to share their expertise by participating in current/future FAAm tracks and programming. FCR can “bootstrap” the FAAm launch in certain ways. (Evaluate which creators, workshops, events, and topics resonate most with community? Double down, and highlight these for future FAAm tracks.)
B. Goals aka success looks like
FCR falls in line with the ultimate objective of community programming such as Forefront Alpha Academy. We want to Inspire & Empower the next wave of Web3 creators.
These are early days. Many in our community are currently learning and researching this space. Ultimately, however, many yearn to be more than just visitors to this space. They aspire to be active world-builders.
FCR will spotlight and support the Web3 creators of tomorrow, providing an intimate “behind-the-scenes look” at the incredible array of aspirations, initiatives and projects that are shaping the Web3 space.
FCR feeds the Forefront community & culture flywheel:

FCR aims to cultivate a richer dimension of diversity in the Web3 ecosystem
“Who is the Web3 creator?” We want to inspire community members with a sense of how much more expansive the opportunities and play space are in the Web3 ownership/creator economy.
Curate and cultivate diversity of creators along dimensions of gender, race/ethnicity, field or domain of activity, thought/philosophy, context, experience, etc.
With FCR, FF solidifies its role of Ecosystem Gardener and Connector, as well as its position as the premier port of entry to Web3:
The heart of FCR is the cultivation of relationships with Web3 creators who value cross-pollination, partnerships/alliances, community organizing and pedagogy.
FCR supports Creators to further their work in collaboration with a wider community, and in turn, the Creators deepen FF’s social graph.
This synergistic interchange will architect the foundation of the Web3 ecosystem, pivoting us away from siloes and competition to open, associative collaboration.
If experiment proves viable, FCR will branch out into multiple residency programs focused on Art, Development, Gaming, Metaverse, DeFi, etc.
